Hand to Mouth (2019)
Live performance and HD video on monitor or large screen, duration 3.09 mins

Drawing attention to the act of demonstration and various forms of making within craft. 'Hand to Mouth' explores a new communication between the dexterity of the makers body and material. The artwork looks at the movements of making, bodily rhythm, material and the creation of objects and artifacts. The resulting video work incorporates a vocal response which intertwines with gestural rhythm creating an improvisational 'work' song.

Working in collaboration with the improvisational singing group, HIVE Choir based in Sonic Art Research Centre, Queens University, Belfast. 'Hand to Mouth' interprets gestural movements into the human voice. During the exhibition opening of Normal Position, Show position at Platform Arts Belfast, 'Hand to Mouth' was performed live with Nollaig Molloy and HIVE Choir.
